Ilya Mikheyev is on his way to the Sunshine State.
The Russian forward has signed a four-year contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning, agent Dan Milstein announced Wednesday.
The team also confirmed the news later in the day, adding that the contract carries an average annual value of $3.85 million.
Mikheyev, 31, had a solid season with the Chicago Blackhawks last year, tallying 18 goals and 18 assists in 77 games, and earned votes for the Selke Trophy. He averaged 17:26 of ice time per game.
Signed by the Toronto Maple Leafs as an undrafted free agent ahead of the 2019-20 season, Mikheyev has 98 goals and 103 assists in 427 career NHL games across seven seasons. He has played for the Leafs, Vancouver Canucks and Blackhawks.
